Confidence levels
Not every prediction is equally well-supported. Lab tells you which is which.
High confidence
- Multiple human RCTs
- Clinical use widespread
- Most prescription drugs at standard doses
Medium confidence
- Limited human data or only observational
- Mechanism is well-understood from animal work
- Common supplements at typical doses
Low confidence
- Animal-only or in-vitro only
- Theoretical extrapolation from mechanism
- Lab plots these with wider confidence bands and warns you
Where you'll see this
- In the Bibliography — every source carries a confidence badge
- In the inspector — the citation pills on every row use a separate but related color language: green = cited, blue = calibrated, red ⚠ = uncited. Hovering a pill shows the underlying source's confidence
- In charts — lower-confidence predictions get wider confidence bands
